Louis Hamilton received a certificate for ‘Being Our First Book Buddy and reading to a younger student’.Įverybody Reads is on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings before school (8.30 to 8.50). Tuesday lunchtime students in the Library are asked to read to or listen to a student read. 4/5 Jury showcased ‘The Elephant’ by Peter Carnavas and received the certificate for ‘Best Use of Resources’ and Year 6 Clift showcased M is for Mutiny! History by Alphabet’ by John Dickon and received the certificate for ‘Best Team Work Presentation’.Īt the assembly Book Buddies and Everybody Reads were launched. Year 4/5 Bubner had ‘Henrietta and the Perfect Night’ by Martine Murray and received a certificate for ‘Most Humourous Presentation’. Year 3 Allen chose ‘I’m Australian Too’ by Mem Fox and received the certificate for ‘Best Interpretation of Book’. 1/2 Westbrook drew their own gardens based around the book ‘Florette’ and received the certificate for ‘Best Design Work’. The Rec/1 Atkins /Dayman class spoke about the ‘The Great Rabbit Chase’ by Freya Blackwood and received the certificate for ‘Best Mapped Book and Timely’. Shortlist favouritesĮach R-6 class at the Maitland Campus highlighted one of the books short-listed this year for the Children’s Book Council Book of the Year Awards. ![]() ![]() They received the certificate for ‘Best Example of Book Week Activities’. The Point Pearce Campus showed us their games (find the treasure) and spoke about the activities they had completed during the week. The Early Learning Centre, Point Pearce Campus and the R-6 classes at the Maitland Campus participated in Book Week with the theme of ‘Find Your Treasure’.Īt the traditional Book Week Assembly the Early Learning Centre enthusiastically sang one of their ‘treasured’ songs and received a certificate for the ‘Best Choreographed Performance’. Wednesday August 22 saw pirates, sportspersons, book characters and treasured items arriving at school.
